I contacted Robert for advice on a dashboard for client project. My specialty revolves more around data engineering and data management, so I was looking for feedback on the visualization. Robert was able to meet remotely, very promptly and walk me through how he typically approaches a data storytelling problem, as well as identify alternative ways of presenting the data. Robert quickly identified a couple confusing or misleading visualizations in my dashboard I was able to clean up, as well as help guide the flow in the dashboard by suggesting rearrangements. Overall, my client was very happy with the results.

Working with Viz Simply added significant value to our organization and data visualization capacity.   Rob was able to adjust to our unique needs, was patient with our learning curve and provided resources and examples to help with our continued growth. He is obviously knowledgeable about a wide range of topics and provided guidance beyond just viz creation, but on overall organizational use and understanding of data and its use in telling the story.

this business exists to help you grow

Don't let the learning curve in front of you stop your career from progressing.

While there is a lot to learn there is only a little you need to in order to begin leveraging Tableau.

Tableau has been designed to keep you in the flow. This is the most fulfilling place you, as a professional, want to work.

Working with Tableau today may not feel fun. I can relate. That's why I start by meeting you where you are and fill in those knowledge gaps, so you can start having more fun at work.

Your company made an investment in Tableau for a reason. They want to understand their data better. They recognize that there is an opportunity to make better informed decisions.

By learning to leverage Tableau you can be their hero.

There are plenty of people at your organization who could use your help in understanding their data. What's beautiful about leveraging Tableau is that your insights scale.

Making a serious impact goes a long way in helping you enjoy your workday.

Humans are extremely visual, but we generally don't spend enough time learning how to communicate data visually.

By understanding the principles of data visualization you not only gain knowledge that directly applies to Tableau, but any area where you need to communicate information to others.

While there is a lot to be gained by adding in a bit a creativity you do not have to be "creative" to succeed in this field.

The most common mistakes I see people make are easily avoidable.

Learning what not to do can go a long way in helping you communicate more effectively as well stop you from misinforming your audience.

Once you are comfortable respecting a few rules of data visualization your creativity will start to show itself.

But, the best part of learning Tableau is that you aren't going it alone.

You are literally joining a global community of Tableau users new and old.

While joining a massive community, such as Tableau's, can be intimidating, a large community also means you are guaranteed to find like-minded people.

I have had the privilege of speaking at Tableau User Group around the world. So, I can tell you from experience that this community is diverse, inspiring, and full of fun folks excited to help you grow.
